Description:

Crafted with a blend of botanical extracts from Sugarcane, Bilberry, Orange Peel, Lemon Peel, Cranberry, Bladderwrack, Green Tea, White Willow Bark, and Rosemary Leaf, this cream has been meticulously formulated with a low concentration of AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) precisely regulated to ensure it remains within a range that does not compromise the skin's natural defenses or trigger any irritation. Instead, it is thoughtfully balanced to provide maximum benefits without adverse effects on the skin.

Organic Seaweed Extract

Skin barrier strength and hydration: The chemistry of AHAs plays a pivotal role in fortifying the skin's protective barrier. It achieves this by fostering epidermal proliferation and thickening, as well as by promoting the production of hyaluronic acid.

The reinforcement of the skin barrier, coupled with its hydration and moisturizing attributes, renders AHAs particularly valuable for addressing dry skin.

Anti-aging: While the long-term effects of specific hydroxy acids on the skin microbiome require further investigation and detailed characterization, current research has unveiled potential advantages for our skin microflora. For instance, AHAs and BHAs can contribute to the maintenance of an acidic environment conducive to the growth of skin microbes. Skin flora heavily relies on an acidic environment primarily regulated by lactic acid in sweat and sebum, but hydroxy acids can play a supportive role. In addition to fostering the proliferation of beneficial bacteria, this support can help in keeping potentially harmful bacteria in check.

However, it's crucial to exercise caution as acids can also disrupt the microbial balance. Excessive acid exposure can lower skin pH to a level where it inhibits the growth of beneficial bacteria. We use a low percentage of AHAs so it is safe and gentle.

Photodamage and photoprotection: Hydroxy acids can serve as effective remedies for mitigating the repercussions of photodamage while also offering photoprotection.
